چکیده
Abstract Background Centri-lobular nodules are the most common pattern of diffuse pulmonary encountered on high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT). HRCT with post-processing techniques such as obtaining maximum intensity projection (MIP) is helpful in making centri-lobular more conspicuous. The study aimed to highlight role its reconstruction capabilities detection and characterization nodules, interpret frequent associated findings, correlate clinical findings reach appropriate diagnosis. Results included 58 patients; 41.4% males 58.6% females. Their age ranged from 2 67 years mean 25.69. numbers, distribution, shape, chest were identified. top three etiological diagnoses infection/inflammation 50.0% cases followed by acute viral bronchiolitis 27.6% inhalation 19.0% cases. Correlation diagnosis was carried out consequent formulation an algorithm for diagnostic approach various etiologies nodules. The Role of Nuclear Medicine in The Diagnosis and Management of Solitary Pulmonary Nodules
Solitary pulmonary nodule (SPN) is a frequent finding on the chest x-ray and computed tomography. Nuclear medicine techniques play an important role in the diagnosis and management of SPN. In the current review, we briefly will explain the different nuclear medicine modalities in this regard including positron emission tomography (PET) using 18-F-FDG, and 11-C-Methionine, and single photon em...

Objective—To determine the incidence of dysphagia and associated pulmonary compromise in stroke patients through a systematic review of the published literature. Methods—Databases were searched (1966 through May 2005) using terms “cerebrovascular disorders,” “deglutition disorders,” and limited to “humans” for original articles addressing the frequency of dysphagia or pneumonia. Data sources in...
متن کاملClassification of Pneumoconiosis on HRCT Images for Computer-Aided Diagnosis
This paper describes a computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) method to classify pneumoconiosis on HRCT images. In Japan, the pneumoconiosis is divided into 4 types according to the density of nodules: Type 1 (no nodules), Type 2 (few small nodules), Type 3-a (numerous small nodules) and Type 3-b (numerous small nodules and presence of large nodules). Because most pneumoconiotic nodules are small-sized...

متن کاملMining Knowledge for Differential Diagnosis of Pulmonary Nodules
The development of computer-assisted radiology in PACS is associated with the use of new intelligent capabilities of computer-assisted radiology. In this paper we present our work on data mining to support medical image diagnosis. We use decision tree induction in order to learn the expert knowledge, presented in the form of image descriptions in the database. A methodology is developed to perf...
